ICCA Edinburgh Congress Rescheduled
A message from ICCA President Lucy Reed
You will recall that in April I wrote to promise a final decision on the date for the XXVth ICCA Congress in Edinburgh by the end of June. I write now to tell you that ICCA and the Scottish Arbitration Centre have decided to reschedule the Congress for 18 – 21 September 2022.
Although Covid-19 travel and gathering restrictions are easing at different rates internationally, we have reluctantly concluded that restrictions likely will not have eased sufficiently by the last-scheduled date of September 2021 to allow for an in-person Congress welcoming delegates from around the world.
I know you will agree that a key strength of our ICCA Congress is that it brings our global arbitration community together – which is what the new September 2022 dates will allow us to do again, for the first time since Sydney in 2018.
We at ICCA are grateful for the unwavering support and hard work of the Scottish Arbitration Centre, led by Brandon Malone and Andrew Mackenzie, and of the Program Committee, chaired by Cavinder Bull, Loretta Malintoppi and Constantine Partasides. We can thank them in advance for an engaging program and the opportunity – finally – to spend time with friends old and new when we meet in person in Edinburgh in September 2022.
Those who have already registered for the Congress will automatically have your registrations and, where relevant, accommodation transferred to the September 2022 dates. You will receive a separate communication from the Scottish Arbitration Centre as the Congress Host, containing further information about how to change or cancel existing arrangements if need be.
With a million thanks and best wishes to all to stay safe and healthy,
Lucy Reed,
ICCA President
