ICCA Celebrates its 60th Anniversary

In the 60 years since its establishment in 1961, ICCA has held 25 Congresses across 6 continents, established 5 lines of publications that are a leading source of know-how in international arbitration, set up 12 project groups addressing important topics in the field, and has held judicial outreach sessions in 30 jurisdictions on 6 continents across the world.

ICCA is dedicated to promoting and improving arbitration and other forms of international dispute resolution, and has been strengthening its commitment to the values of diversity and inclusion along the way. The establishment of Young ICCA in 2010 aimed to “open the doors of international arbitration” and since 2011, 700 mentees and group advisers from 6 continents have passed through 8 cycles of the Young ICCA Mentoring Programme.

As ICCA turns 60 this year, we are celebrating with a series of project launches and a look back at our history.

The celebrations will begin with a webinar hosted by the ICCA-NYC Bar-CPR Working Group on Cybersecurity in International Arbitration. Working Group members will be gathering on 29 September to discuss how international arbitration has changed irreversibly due to the arrival of the Covid pandemic and how to tackle the subsequent increase in cyber-attacks. The webinar will take place on Wednesday 29 September at 14:00 (CEST). For more information and details on how to join, click here.

Further announcements regarding our celebrations will follow. Keep an eye on our 60th Anniversary page and social media channel for all that is to come.
